Tools

This menu offers a few tools dedicated to the IP world. Find Space and Subnet Calculator are part of TeemIP core modules where MAC Lookup and IP Discovery are brought by specific extensions. All of them are available by default in TeemIP standalone version. However, the additional extensions need to be installed when TeemIP is hosted on top of iTop.

The Find Space tool allows you to search for IPv4 or IPv6 space of any size, from a given IP address anywhere in the IP space and within any organization. It enhances the function already available within subnet blocks.

The first step will require you to select the organization and the IP space you want to work in: IPv4 or IPv6.

You'll need then to enter an IP address, a size and the maximum number of offers that you want to get.

Once required information is entered, Find Space tool will provide a list of possible choices, possibly embedded within already registered IP space.

All offers can be transformed into a subnet block or a subnet. By clicking the appropriate , you’ll open a window where you’ll be able to create the requested object.

This utility greatly helps network computations using IP addresses, subnet masks or mask bits for IPv4 subnets and IP addresses and mask bits for IPv6 subnets. Note that you can access the calculator from the IPv4 and IPv6 subnets menus.

• Next Subnet IP

And IPv6 calculation provides:

• IP Address in compressed format
• IP Address in canonical format
• Network IP
• Prefix
• Prefix Mask
• Last IP
• Number of IPs
• Previous Subnet IP
• Next Subnet IP

In both cases, the tool will offer the possibility to create 3 subnet blocks and / or 3 subnets:

• the one that corresponds to the computed subnet,
• the one that corresponds to the previous subnet,
• the one that corresponds to the next subnet.

MAC Lookup tool allows you to lookup information on a specific MAC address or on the MAC addresses configured on CIs. It is installed by TeemIp's MAC Address Lookup extension.

From the IP Discovery tool menu, you may configure and drive IP Discovery engines. This tool is installed by TeemIp's IP Discovery extension.
