Storage

TeemIp's Storage Management module is iTop's Storage Management module that has been slightly adapted to integrate with TeemIp' specific IP objects. For a comprehensive reference to that module, please, refer to the Storage Management chapter in iTop wiki.

Here below is the list of iTop storage CIs that have been modified by TeemIp.

Storage System

A Storage System is used in TeemIp to describe any storage system that can be attached either to a SAN or to an Ethernet network. The logical unit of storage managed by a Storage System is a Logical Volume.

Storage System Properties

Only one attribute is affected by TeemIP.

Name Type Mandatory?
Management IP Foreign key to a(n) IPv4 or IPv6 Address No

Upon creation or modification, a management IP can be set as a foreign key to an IP address. A drop-down box will list a choice of available IP addresses.

  • Only addresses which status is released or unassigned (ie not allocated nor reserved) will be offered,
  • Status of IP is automatically changed when IP is attached to a device or server or removed from it,
  • If enabled through IP settings, CI name is copied into IP short name.

SAN Switch

A SAN Switch is a network switch compatible with the Fibre Channel protocol used by storage networks.

SAN Switch Properties

Only one attribute is affected by TeemIP.

Tape Library

A Tape Library is a storage device which contains one or more tape drives, a number of slots to hold tape cartridges and an automated method for loading tapes. Tape Libraries are used for data backup or archiving.

NAS

A Network-Attached Storage system (in short: NAS) is a specialized file server appliance that connects to the network. In iTop a NAS is linked to NAS File Systems.
